January update - WIP check

I did say I'd try to post monthly, let's see if it sticks.

First of my big WIPs is a novel set in my werewolf-ridden medieval village setting, Abadosos. Not really a sequel to Silenci, but definitely set in the same place. I may have to retcon some background things but hey, what can ya do? Thematically speaking, this novel is kind of an opposite direction to Silenci, so it was a bit wild for me to come to terms with that, lol. Progress: drafting, 50k out of... 80k? I'm not good at estimating word counts, but at the pace I'm going, yeah, it's at least 80k.

Some very rough character sketches.

Next up is a TTRPG campaign setting I've been working on for a couple years now. It started as a little homebrew setting for a one-on-one campaign I'm running for my wife, but what was supposed to be a one-shot turned into a three-shot and then into a years-long campaign with too much worldbuilding for a single player to explore so... here we have my take on noir urban fantasy. Progress: all over the place, stitching everything together like an improvised quilt. A little primer on it coming soon though, hopefully!

Some of the visual style I developed for the campaign setting.

Other WIPs I have are an Arthurian retelling that's threatening to become a novella instead of a short story like it was supposed to be, a short story that finally found its core theme, and my forever-WIP high fantasy trilogy that has seen some significant plotting and characterization progress, but very little actual writing.

I also made an origami dalmatian the other day when I left town, and then promptly forgot to bring it home with me.

I guess I'll just have to make another one! Oh no!

Also I moved to Bluesky! I don't have much there yet, but updates there will probably be more frequent than here, especially for the campaign setting.

Aaand that's it for me folks. Thanks for sticking around, see you next time!
