Ten Lyrics To Write About - non-English language edition

Sometimes I sneak in songs in other languages (mainly Spanish) into the Sunday inspiration posts. Not today though. Today, they're ALL non-English! Most of them are in Spanish, yes, because that's what I understand, but I like to think there's more variety this time!

You know the drill. Roll a d10 (or generate a random number from 1 to 10). Compare it with the list below. Write something based on the result! You don't actually have to have heard the song, you can just read the quote and let your imagination fly! Share it in the comments— or not, I’m not the boss of you.

  1. Moon, you want to be a mother and yet don’t want to be made a woman [Luna, quieres ser madre y no encuentras querer que te hagan mujer] (Hijo de la Luna; Mecano)
  2. Mother was the devil for being old, this man was the devil for being evil [Madre es diablo por vieja, este señor era diablo por ser malo] (Se Oye Negra, Incolora; Ruiz-González)
  3. You can never fight again, your sword will not speak today, eternal life will wait for you to go search for it [Nunca mas podrás luchar, hoy no hablara tu espada, la vida eterna esperará que la vayas a buscar] (Las Walkirias; Tierra Santa)
  4. And every morning the sun is bride, though no bridal hymns sound [Och varje morgon står solen brud, fast inga brudpsalmer låta] (Grimasch Om Morgonen; Falconer)
  5. No, nothing at all, no, I don’t regret anything, because my life, because my joys, today they begin with you [Non, rien de rien, non, je ne regrette rien, car ma vie, car mes joies, aujourd’hui ça commence avec toi] (Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien; Édith Piaf)
  6. How was it that you stopped wanting me when I could still bear your lack of love? [Cómo fue que me dejaste de amar, yo aún podía soportar tu tanta falta de querer] (Tu Falta De Querer; Mon Laferte)
  7. You who invented sin forgot to invent the forgiveness [Você que inventou o pecado esqueceu-se de inventar o perdão] (Apesar De Você; Chico Buarque)
  8. The waning moon has lit up, the insanity rampant in the shade [Kaketa tsuki ga terashi dashita kageri no naka habikoru kyooki] (Akumu No Rondo; Babymetal)
  9. When I walk on the Path of Death, and the tracks I tread are cold, so cold [Når eg på Helvegen går og dei spora eg trår er kalda, så kalda] (Helvegen; Wardruna)
  10. Footsteps pound the sacred warpath, many heads are sought, many slaves are sought, this is the work of Tūmatauenga [Waewae tapu takahi te ara taua, ka hopungia e maha nga upoko, ka hopungia e maha taurekareka, e mahi nga mahi a Tūmatauenga] (Kai Tangata; Alien Weaponry)

Happy writing!
